In one of my more brilliant moments, I realized that Finnegan’s Wake might be taking place at an actual wake.
It’s kind of like reading white noise. And it goes quick, since I can’t figure out the plot or what’s going on, so I don’t have to waste time remembering what’s already happened or who the people are.
